Awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit
Included in this group are those clematis commonly thought of as Viticella's, or viticella crosses. However we have taken the liberty to include some other cultivars in this group because their growth, habit and appearance is identical to that of the Viticella's. They include the likes of 'Blekitny Aniol', 'Polish Spirit' and 'Prince Charles' because of their similarities, and for ease of selection, we feel justified in placing them within this group.
They are all extremely hardy, very free flowering, their pruning is simple and they cannot be recommended highly enough. Especially useful for people new to growing clematis as they are extremely tolerant of what the gardener does to them! They all make excellent companions to grow with roses.

Blooming just 2 weeks after planting
This clematis arrived professionally packed and was easy to plant even for a 100% beginner like me.
Started flowering just 2 weeks after planting and never stops!
I'm sure I will enjoy my garden with this plant for many more years to come.
Clematis Beginner July 2020
I only bought this clematis in the middle of July this year, I planted it against a climbing rose on a fence. Two weeks later I went away for over 2 weeks. Came back and it was growing well, even without being watered. Watered it thoroughly and have been watering the plant during dry spells. It is growing so fast. I'm delighted and will definitely be buying from Thorncroft again, although maybe earlier in the season in future!.

I bought this clematis quite cheaply as part of an offer and it has been marvellous. In its first year it's grown well and twined through a gloire de Dijon rose on my north facing fence and just looked amazing. Would thoroughly recommend.

Just the most beautiful clematis, one of many I bought and is a joy to see every day.

A brilliant, free-flowering clematis - the colour becomes almost luminous as dusk takes over from the summer sunshine.
