Information

The abundant clusters of small almond-scented star-like flowers are white with bright pinky-red tips. A favourite in our garden and one we will never be without!

Clematis triternata 'Rubromarginata' is often know as flammula 'Rubromarginata' and is also abbreviated to TRM.

Cultivation Advice.
This lovely group of scented clematis can make useful additions to our gardens. They produce literally hundreds of star-like flowers, which have a hawthorn-like perfume, attracting bees and butterflies to the garden.  Whilst these can be grown in any aspect, they will flower better, and the perfume will be stronger if grown in a sunny, free draining position.
For more information on growing flammula clematis see our guide here.

Nice plant but big

I have an old apple tree and wanted something to cover it and give interest after the blossom had finished. This was the top recommendation and I have to say it has done very well indeed.

The perfume is great and the plant has certainly settled in well, it has grown over 10 feet in its first year.

I think I will have to prune it back hard this winter otherwise it will be too much for my apple tree.
