Information
The scented pink flowers of this popular garden plant have creamy-yellow throats. Lonicera x americana is a classic cottage garden plant that has an enviable reputation as a garden classic. It is best to grow this beauty on a free draining soil to avoid it 'wetting off' in winter.

Cultivation Advice.

Deciduous, sometimes evergreen, climbing honeysuckles (Lonicera) have thin, flexible stems that twine around their supports. Grow them up walls and fences, or over a pergola to scent the air near a seating area. Although they will flower better in a sunny place, a lightly shaded position will encourage a healthier, greener plant. Climbing honeysuckles will thrive on almost any soil type. Very wet or excessively dry soils are unsuitable. Strong sunlight can scorch the growth.
