Often known as the Early Dutch Honeysuckle, Lonicera periclymenum Belgica has purply-red buds which open to reveal a creamy-yellow throat and are highly fragrant. A classic cottage garden plant that benefits from a free draining soil condition to do best.

Lonicera periclymenum florida is a vigorous deciduous honeysuckle producing masses of strongly scented, deep red-purple flowers that have a yellow inside. The blooms are followed by red berries that are popular with birds into the autumn.

Lonicera periclymenum Graham Thomas has sweetly scented creamy-white flowers which mature to a pale yellow as they are pollinated. It is a classic cottage garden honeysuckle that will be as happy growing on your garden arch or pergola as it will growing into a small tree or large shrub.

The scented creamy-yellow flowers of Lonicera periclymenum Heaven Scent will mature to white as they age. The blooms come in abundance from early to mid summer and truly fill a garden with fragrance.

Lonicera periclymenum Serotina produces masses of richly fragrant tubular flowers that are creamy-white inside, with a purple-red outer. A popular honeysuckle blooming in summer through to autumn, it prefers a part shade to sunny location and a reasonably free draining soil.

A lovely, vigorous, climbing honeysuckle, Lonicera Sweet Sue produces large, highly fragrant, trumpet-shaped pale yellow flowers with white throats which will last from mid summer to late autumn.

One of my all time favourite honeysuckle, Lonicera purpusii fragrantisima has dainty white flowers with a strong scent through the winter months and is loved by solitary bees especially on a mild winters day. It's winter flowering nature makes it a very attractive plant to provide year round interest and it is worth noting that it requires free draining soil to do its best for you.

Lonicera sempervirens is often known as the 'Trumpet honeysuckle'.  This vigorous evergreen climber displays its scarlet red to orange blooms that have a yellow inside all through the summer and autumn. The blooms are followed by bright red berries popular with the birds.

Lonicera similis var. delavyii produces a huge abundance of white tubular flowers which turn yellow once pollinated and are sweetly scented. The flowers are followed by black berries that are very popular with birds and it is also semi-evergreen in a sheltered location.

The scented pink flowers of this popular garden plant have creamy-yellow throats. Lonicera x americana is a classic cottage garden plant that has an enviable reputation as a garden classic.

The long trumpet shaped scarlet red flowers of Lonicera x brownii Dropmore Scarlet have bright orange throats and last from mid summer to late autumn meaning it is one of our longest flowering honeysuckle. It benefits from a free draining soil to do its best although any soil that has the drainage improved should be fine.

Lonicera x heckrottii Gold Flame has wonderfully scented pink flowers with a peachy-orange throat, which are produced in great abundance across the plant. It benefits from a free draining soil or one which has had drainage improved and will give a stronger fragrance in a sunny location but will cope with part shade.

This beautiful honeysuckle, Lonicera x tellmanniana is unscented, but will produce an abundance of large clusters of long trumpet-shaped warm orange flowers with a coppery flush, which will last from mid summer to late autumn.

A spectacular Chinese Virginia creeper, Parthenocissus henryana is a deciduous, self-clinging climber which has attractive dark green foliage, with silver white veining, in the spring and summer, and leaves which turn crimson red in the autumn, for an amazing display.

Parthenocissus quinquefolia is the traditional Virginia creeper, a deciduous, self-clinging climber, with large green leaves in the summer, which turn bright red in the autumn, filling your garden with a real pop of colour. The leaf is slightly glossy and the blooms leave behind a small black berry which the birds love but it is toxic to humans.

An exclusive and stunning Polish variety with attractive large glossy leaves, green in summer, turning to deep fiery red in autumn. Fully hardy, healthy and quite undemanding. An excellent subject for growing over fences, but may also be trained over walls, arbour's, pergolas and other supports.

Commonly known as Boston Ivy, Parthenocissus Beverley Brook is a self-clinging, vigorous climber grown mainly for it's spectacular autumn leaf colour, which is at its best when grown in full sun. The leaves are glossy green in spring and summer, turning glorious red and purple during the autumn.

Passiflora Constance Elliott is a stunning, semi-evergreen climber bearing scented, beautifully intricate pure white flowers, with white filaments and green and purple structures at its centre. The flowers are followed by orange-yellow, egg-shaped fruit. It requires free draining soil. A strikingly beautiful white passion flower, nicely complemented by dark green foliage, this plant will brighten any area that it climbs over.

This semi-evergreen climber, Passiflora White Lightning, produces striking ivory-white blooms accented by a purple crown and centre, followed by yellow fruit. It requires free draining soil. Enjoy the exotic-looking flowers and bring colour into your garden with this lovely variety of Passion Flower.

Impressively large exotic flowers are white with an overlay of vibrant purply-blue filaments and green and purple structures in the centre. The flowers have a light scent and are sought-after by pollinating insects. It will be happiest on a sheltered wall where it gets some protection form the worst of the winter weather. Alternatively grow it in a cool conservatory of greenhouse.
