New Clematis

Here we have a list of the most recently introduced clematis, many will have been launched by ourselves, some may be older varieties but recently re-introduced to our collection.

Duchess of Cornwall 'Evipo118' and Kokonoe were added in the spring, then at our September Open Day we were delighted to add LITTLE LEMONS 'Zo14100',  Multi Pink 'ST17333',  RED PASSION 'Zo11056', and SO MANY RED FLOWERS 'Zo06178' for our customers to enjoy and golly they flew out the door!

From 2019:
Clematis ‘Meghan’, and SUGAR SWEET™ Blue were officially introduced by us at the Chelsea Flower Show 2019 and SUPER NIGHT and SPOTLIGHT were officially introduced by us at Chatsworth Flower Show 2019.

This delightful new evergreen climbers produces beautiful creamy-white flowers against a backdrop of rich green foliage. The blooms are gently nodding and bell-shaped with a hint of pink to the tips of the filaments at the centre.  A charming and prolific winter flowering evergreen clematis that prefers a sunny location and requires a free draining soil.

Clematis DUCHESS OF CORNWALL Evipo118

Stunning violet-blue flowers open a deep violet and mature to a mid blue as they age, particularly in a sunny location. They have a wonderfully contrasting white stamen and cream anthers and it is a compact, free-flowering climber perfect for a pot!

Clematis EXCITING 'Zoexci'

The flower of clematis EXCITING are a light mauve-blue with highlights of a rose pink bar. The reverse of the bloom is also a deep reddy-pink and the blooms are produced in great abundance.

Clematis Golden Dream

The light to golden-yellow double nodding bell-shaped flowers open from pale lime green buds and mature to lemon yellow with age having a delightful grapefruit scent. Blooms are most prolific in May but continue sporadicly through June. July and August.

Launched by Thorncroft Clematis - LAVALLEE No.1 has rich deep bluey-purple flowers that blend to an almost white bar in the centre of the tepal and very prominent purple stamens like luxurious eyelashes in the centre.

Clematis LITTLE LEMONS 'Zo14100'

Little Lemons is an intriguing introduction from our friends at Jan van Zoest clematis nursery in The Netherlands.
Dainty yellow flowers are 1-1.5 inches across and produced in great abundance on short stems of 25-30cm. Clematis SAPHYRA® Estrella 'CLEMINOV27'

From an abundance of spiky buds, starlike flowers of mauve-blue appear and mature to pale mauvey-blue as they age. A slightly deeper pinky-lavender bar can be seen when they first open but quickly disappears.

Prolific starlike flowers of deep indigo-blue mature to a mid indigo and the central stamens open to reveal white filaments. Long flowering from mid-June to autumn, this is the oldest variety of the SAPHYRA® range.

Abundant fuchsia pink starlike flowers are shown off brilliantly against a bright green foliage. A more natural climber than the other SAPHYRA® cultivars, Nancy will happily climb up a small support, climb a wall trellis or create lovely ground cover. Also consider her to use as a scrambling companion in a border over other shrubs, her uses are varied thanks to her prolific and forgiving nature.

Star-shaped flowers of deep purply-blue are produced in great abundance on this compact and prolific scrambling clematis. Violetta can also be trained up a short support or allowed to cascade over a short wall and the flowers last well if you like to cut flowers for the home.

The abundant flowers are a bright red with a reddy-purple hint at the centre of the bloom and a crown of beautiful cream anthers which contrast beautifully with the tepals. Extremely abundant making it ideal for containers.

The first flowers are semi-double, secondary blooms are single but all are purest white and starlike in their appearance. An extremely abundant and hardy variety named due to it's resemblance to the ever popular Arabella.
